At ICAN, we believe everyone deserves a chance, not just to work, but to belong, to be seen, and to succeed. Too often, individuals with disabilities are overlooked or underestimated. The ICAN Coffee Shop changes that.
ICAN Coffee is more than a cup of coffee. It’s about workforce development that helps our clients gain new skills, build confidence, and take pride in meaningful work that connects them with their community.
From our first coffee cart to DaVinci students building the trailer, its debut at our Garden Party, and City Council approval to operate at the Torrance Library, every milestone has brought us closer to launch. Now, as we raise the final funds to get rolling, we’re excited to soon serve coffee, confidence, and community right here in Torrance.

2017 - 2024
Hermosa Coffee Co - The Inspiration
Our journey began with a simple idea: a great cup of coffee can bring people together. We started with Hermosa Coffee Co. as our first initiative for our ICAN marketplace, we set out to create a project that blends skill-building with community connection.
2024
DaVinci Students Build the Dream
Next, students from DaVinci Schools put their creativity and craftsmanship to work, designing and building the ICAN Coffee Shop from the ground up.
2025
First Showing at the Garden Party
The shop made its debut at ICAN’s Garden Party, where guests got a first look at this incredible project in progress. The excitement and support from our community were overwhelming!
2025 (October)
City Council Approval
ICAN presented the Coffee Shop to the Torrance City Council, and received approval to officially operate at the Torrance Library! This milestone brings us one step closer to launching.
2025 (November)
Raising Funds
We’re in the final stretch! Your support will help us raise the funds needed for job coaching, supplies, and final launch costs. Every gift helps us roll closer to the finish line.
2026
Launch at the Torrance Library Coming Soon
Soon, the ICAN Coffee Shop will officially open at the Torrance Library, serving great coffee, building confidence, and creating meaningful work opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
