ICAN Coffee Takes Over Management of Terrabite Cafe at The Lundquist Institute
New partnership expands employment opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, now serving food along with specialty coffees and drinks

Torrance, California, August 31, 2026

Today, ICAN Coffee, a program of ICAN California Abilities Network, celebrates being the new management partner of Terrabite Cafe, located at The Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation in Torrance. Terrabite Cafe will serve the Institute’s community of healthcare workers, researchers, educators, and staff with specialty coffees and fresh culinary dishes.

“We are proud to bring ICAN Coffee to The Lundquist Institute,” said Scott Elliott, Executive Director of ICAN California Abilities Network. “Every role at Terrabite is one our team members applied for, interviewed for, and earned. This partnership gives our clients another place to build skills, earn real wages, and find their place in the workforce.”

The cafe’s food program is led by Chef Hung Quan, a local chef and longtime member of the ICAN community who recently stepped into the role of ICAN Culinary Director. In addition to supporting ICAN Coffee’s culinary operations, Chef Hung brings a menu of fresh, locally sourced dishes to Terrabite.

Terrabite Cafe is located in a private facility, accessible only to employees of The Lundquist Institute and the surrounding medical facilities.
