She’ll tell you she’s still a shy person. She’ll also tell you she’s grown more than she ever expected.
“From the beginning, I was a really shy person. I still am, but I feel like I have grown a lot compared to then. I’m really happy about that.”
At ICAN, growth doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like walking through a familiar door, seeing familiar faces, and feeling a little more like yourself than you did before.
Now she’s looking ahead, excited to build new skills and cook meals for herself.

Meet Devonte. 🌟
When he first came to ICAN, he was a little shy. It didn’t take long for that to change.
“It didn’t take me long to get out my shell. The clubs helped me with my social skills, and it helped me a whole lot.”
Hiking, bowling, cooking, field trips. Every activity, every connection, every shared moment added up. Devonte came in quiet and found a place that felt like home.
“I felt like I’ve slowly improved my goals. I’m really blessed for that.”
